Drum Kits

If you have already looked through some images on this site, you will notice my drum kit set up has remained pretty much the same. Traditionally this has always been 10" and 12" rack toms, 16" floor tom, 14" snare drum and a 22" kick drum.

Now and again I have added a second bass drum but this has always been for show and never actually used, there will have been a double pedal doing the second kick drum part.

In recent years, I have dropped the 10" tom and played a smaller 4 peice kit, partly through laziness and partly through finding it a more comfortable set up.

With regards to cymbals, it's always been more or less the same set-up, I have dropped the second crash I always had to my far left in recent years and I add and remove splash and effects cymbals as and when required for the particular band situation.

For my current bands, here are my set-ups:

• or Mapex Saturn VI in Royal Purple Burst laquer finish. 20x16" kick, 12x8 rack tom, 14x14 floor tom for more intimate venues
